Jack SeilheimerJack Seilheimer-Dr. Seilheimer came to Pueblo in 1963 to take a position at Southern Colorado State College (now Colorado State University-Pueblo) as Professor of Biology.  He begins his 47th year teaching at CSU-Pueblo this fall. During his tenure, he has also served several terms as Department of Biology Chair, Faculty Senate President and 13 years as Dean of the College of Sciences and Mathematics.  Jack has also served the Pueblo Community consistently through the years, especially in environmental protection and education.  He co-founded the Arkansas Valley Audubon Society and the Pueblo Nature Center (now the Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo) and served as its Executive Director for 8 years when it was known as the Pueblo Greenway and Nature Center.  In 2008, Dr. Seilheimer was honored by the Pueblo environmental community and the Nature Center with the “Lifetime Achievement Award”.  Jack has been a member of the Sierra Club since 1987 and has chaired the Sangre de Cristo Group and previously served as a Member of the Executive Committee.  Currently he is serving as Program Chair.
