Earth Day 2005 -- Success

The Poudre Canyon Group had a tent and table at the Fort Collins City Park Earth Day Festival (4/24/05). Throughout the day (11AM-5PM) we had 12 volunteers helping out for at least 2-hours each. The theme of our booth was “Renewable Energy is Getting Cheaper” (our local utility reduced the wind power premium by 60% last year, but many people don’t know that)., but we also had a Water Conservation display (Xeriscaping) and a Compact Fluorescent Lamp display). We estimate we talked to at least 200 people. We passed out about 50 "Colorado’s Energy Future is Renewable” bumper stickers, and an equal number of wind power application forms provided by our municipal utility. In spite of the marginal weather, we all had a good time.
