Wine Tasting Fundraiser

If ya wanna mingle with the coolest people- ya gotta come to an IPG event!

Macon Cowles and Julie Caron (center), accompanied by Manuel Sanchez from West End Wine Shop and Christine Brautigam from outa town, contemplate another big zin at the IPG Wine Tasting Fundraiser. They were just four of the more than fifty Boulder glitterati attending one of the IPG's most important fund raisers of the year. Kudos to Maggie Glover, Chair of Fun Raising - er Fund Raising with extra muscle and brains from Julie Caron, Vice Chair of the Ex Com for organizing and underwriting the event. Well done Maggie and Julie - kerching go the coffers. No that's a mixed metaphor, maybe it should be ker-whump go the coffers. Anyway the IPG treasurer is ker-pleased with the revenue.

Everyone who's anyone

Crystal Gray (right), prominent Boulder political mover and shaker, and now member of the Boulder Town Council, talks with Bill Roettker from the Sprawl and Transportation committee and Julie. Crystal was one of the IPG endorsed candidates in the last election and we are delighted that she was elected.

Careful inspection of the background in this sophisticated scene reveals Brook Stableford (multicolored hair, red vest), the hippest guy in the Indian Peaks Group, within arm's reach of the food counter. Some things never change. Brook is an energy specialist - the type of energy provided by pizza and spaghetti and we're talking megawatts here. How does he stay so slim? By being a non-stop political activist dynamo, that's how. Brook has recently been elected to the Ex Com and his energy will be a driving force for us all next year.

I don't want to labor the point, but there's that counter again. Brook and Peter Hall debate which is the best finger to use for scooping up melted cheese.
