Nature Outing on Flagstaff Mountain

Outings Nature Hike February 9th

As if to underline the fact that this weekend's hike was a nature hike rather than the common or garden regular hike, a red fox turned up as if to say "Hi, I'm part of nature".

Eliza Raynor (on the left below) lead a group of Indian Peaks Sierrans up Flagstaff Mountain on Sunday and added a naturalist's eye for detail to the trek. Eliza informed hikers that the fox could be identified as a grey fox because it had a black-tipped tail.

As you can see from the pics, a good time was had by all. Foxy looks a bit hungry though.

The Outings Group has the intention of offering a hike every weekend of the year during 2003. Why not try one soon? Thanks to Larry Bingham for the great photographs.
