Emerald Lake Hike

March 30 2008

On a late winter day we had a nice walk to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Though it was the end of March we had 6-12 inches of new snow for our hike. The snow was nice once we got on the trail but caused some problems getting to the trail head mostly for my VW van. Other than the driving we had a good time with a large, nice group of people. As this will likely be one of the last hikes with new snow for the year we will remember it until next fall when the snow starts to fall again.
