Election of New Ex Com Members

Cowles Last Duty as Outgoing Chair
The next meeting of the IPG Executive Committee will be Monday evening,
January 27 at a location to be announced.
We now have a new Executive Committee, new Chair and new Vice Chair of
the Indian Peaks Group of the Sierra Club. The election of ExComm members
by the membership was announced last night at a party at the Tandoori
Grill.
Newly elected to two year terms are:
- Julie Caron
- Macon Cowles
- Steve Welter
- Regina Wheeler
These four join the following three ExComm members whose two year term
expires at the end of 2003:
- Bob Cohen
- Kirk Cunningham
- Eliza Rayner

Welter: The New ExCom Chair
These seven ExCom members held a brief public meeting at the party and
elected Steve Welter as Chair and Julie Caron as Vice Chair of the IPG
for the year 2003.
I want to express my appreciation, and that of the Group for service
to the Executive Committee during the past year of Deirdre Butler and
Linda Batlin, whose terms expired. We are very grateful for your contributions
to the Group and look forward to having your support, help and friendship
during the years ahead.
Further, I want to express my appreciation to all the candidates for
the ExComm each of whom promised last night, before the election results
were announced, that they would stay active and contribute their knowledge,
time and expertise in the coming months, whether or not elected. Deirdre
Butler, Julie Caron, Maggie Glover, Mark Webster, Steve Welter, Regina
Wheeler—thank you so much.
I have enjoyed being the Chair of the IPG during the last ten months
and look forward to working with all of you in the coming year.
