Introduction

Welcome to Wayne Schnell and Ron Freshman as new S&Ters.

IPG Volunteer Orientation and Roundup

Kay Bingham discussed volunteer recruitment event scheduled for Thursday Sep 7, 6:30-8:30pm at the Boulder Public Library Main Branch. Bill Roettker will coordinate S&T table at event.

Boulder Transit Village Update

Staff is working on options assessment - public meetings will occur beginning in September, with Council action expected by December.

S&T Views on Growth

Betsy complied information on national Sierra Club policies; will send to Diana for distribution to the entire committee.

Alternative Fuels

Ron attended the alternative fuels conference at National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in Golden; he agreed to compile his notes and send to entire committee. There is still considerable debate about the best way to incorporate alt fuels into the economy. Ron plans to attend IPG energy committee meetings and agreed to be liason between S&T and Energy.

Free Bus Pass

The committee agreed that the proposal has some merits and some potential drawbacks (particularly how it would work within the context of RTD's regional transit system), and supports additional study of implementation and funding options.
